Golden Opportunities
Hi All, The month of June is just about over--where does the time go. I managed to complete my course at the language course this past week. I'll have a two month break from formal Czech
studies. But God continues to bring new and exciting ways for me to practice my Czech language knowledge. For example two weeks ago I was ill and had to go to the doctor. Don't worry I'm much
better now. At the time I was challenged to communicate in Czech because the doctor who was at the office doesn't know English or only a few words. I was excited that God gave us the ability to communicate with one another :) The other night with a few friends I went to the cinema and saw
Prince Capisan--the 2nd Narina movie--it was all in Czech with no subtitles. I again was surprised how much I understood. It also helped that I knew the storyline. But it always is exciting when I hear and know what is actually being said ;) Last night I went to visit a mutual friend with my roommate Olga. Olga and the friend we were visiting spoke Czech. I sat and listened soaking up all of what was being said. A few times I spoke some Czech with them. I was surprised again at how much I could follow from their conversation. Once in a while they would stop and ask if I understood and I would then tell them what I thought they were talking about. They were impressed on how much I picked up :)
The big test comes starting today when I go on a week trip to the mountains with a couple Czech girlfriends who don't speak much English. I appreciate your prayers. God is giving me many opportunities to put into practice what I have been studying.
I promise to take plenty of pictures and put them on the blog when I get back.
Take Care until next time.
Many Blessings,
Colleen
