Pictures at TIA

Hi Everyone, Here are a few pictures of when I left for Brno on the 16th of November. My sister and two good friends were there to see me off. It is interesting my airline ticket said I would be flying from Tampa to Zurich but I was informed at check-in that we would be stopping in Atlanta to change planes--the flight # would stay the same. It is what they call "a continuing flight." Well as I made my way to the gate in Tampa, I found out that our flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue. Many people were scrambling to make new plans since the delay would cause them to miss their connecting flights in Atlanta. I was thanking God that at least my flight would continue on through Atlanta and wasn't overly concerned. My seat was towards the back of the plane & we took off an hour later than originally expected. It was raining in Atlanta and so I quickly waited my turn to get off the one plane & board the new one. It took me a few extra minutes to figure out that I had to go from Terminal T to Terminal E, of course the longest point at the Atlanta airport. No problem I'll just jump on the transportation metro that they have. We traveled to the next terminal A & a voice came over the loud speaker, "Please exit this tram! It is no longer in service". Uh oh--now I've got to make a run for it! By the time I made my way to Terminal E and my new gate, I was out of breath as the person at the counter told me and another gentleman that we had just missed our plane. I glared at her and said, "It was a continuing flight, you knew we were here." She agreed but said that they couldn't be delayed not even one minute and that one other person from our flight managed to make the flight. I couldn't believe it. I went to the ticket counter and after much discussion got them to help get me to Prague so I could get my connecting flight to Brno by noon the next day. It was an adventure that is for sure. I made it safely and my luggage after several days also made it safely. I particular enjoyed my flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam. I sat next to a man who is originally from Ethiopia but who has lived in the US for over 24 years and is a pastor of a church in Texas. It encouraged my heart to meet such an interesting man. We never know who God might bring across our path!
Until next time take care.
Blessings,
Colleen
