Off to E-Camp

Hi Everyone, What is E-Camp? Well, it is how God first got me to learn about the Czech Republic. E-Camp is my way of saying English Camp. The Brno Fellowship Church and my home church in Tampa, Oakwood Community Church, started a partnership of doing English camps in the summer of 2000. In some ways I can't believe that we will be having our 8th camp! The teachers from Tampa arrived on Wed. and several of us have been showing them around the local area. The Tampa team consists of 10 members (5 who have done this many times before and 5 who have never been here). E-camps are very special to me. It is how I first realized that God wanted me to come here.

It takes a lot of work to put a E-Camp together. I understood well what the Tampa Team has to do to prepare.(I've participated in 5 of the first 7 camps) This year I got to play a role on the Czech leadership team that was preparing for the Camp so I now have a better appreciation of the type of preparation they have to do.

Please be in prayer this week for our camp. Here are some things you can be lifting to the Lord on our behalf...
* That God would be glorified in all we say and do.
* That everyone would remain healthy the whole week over 120 people will be at the camp including 32 children--7 are under the age of 2.
* That relationships would grow and deepen. That opportunities to share what the Christian life is all about and the true meaning of the gospel would bear fruit with those campers who are searching for life's answers.

E-Camp starts today and goes until next Saturday. It is a family camp and it allows people to learn about Christianity and the students are able to converse/learn from native English-speakers.

When I get back I'll be sure to post lots of pictures. Thanks for stopping by and until next time take care!

Blessings,
Colleen

  • Hi Colleen,

I have been checking your blog, but this is the first time that I have left a note - sorry. I'm praying that the English Camp is going well.

  • Hi Colleen,
I think the camp was perfect and I was happy there. I want to say you thanks for T-shirt (George bring it to me last weekend from Brno). I have no email to you, so I write to you there.
