Full Summer
Hi All, It has been a pretty full summer. God has given me wonderful opportunities to practice my Czech. At the end of June, I went with 3 Czech friends to the mountains for a week. One of the ladies didn't speak any English while the other two spoke some. I managed to communicate and also I was surprised at how much I understood the Czech they were speaking. It was a great experience for me.
Not long after that the Tampa team (#9) came to partner with the Brno Fellowship for our annual Family English Camp. This year I helped teach the nine and ten year old children. The camp was a great success and I would say probably the most spiritually intense camp I've ever been involved in. I was surprised at how exhausted I was after the camp (emotionally, spiritually and physically). God has restored my strength now and I am so grateful. We had great opportunities to share the love of God throughout the camp. This year we were in southern Bohemia part of the Czech Republic at a new camp. God used us to encourage the manager and staff of the hotel/camp that we stayed at. I also got to practice using my Czech with the campers (for me it was more like Czech camp except for when I was teaching English :)
I have also had a few small trips with friends. And this week I will be near Budapest, Hungary for a conference with other Central and Eastern Europe missionaries and their families who serve with our organization, United World Mission. I've been so focused on learning the Czech language and culture it will be a little odd being around so many native English speakers ;) I appreciate the prayers. Pray God would meet with us this week corporately and individually. When I get back I'll post pictures from my full summer--I promise.
Hope all is well with you. Thanks for your interest in reading my blog and taking the time to think of me. It is very much appreciated.
Until next time take care!
Many Blessings,
Colleen
