Welcome to 2010...
Hi Everyone, Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and that your ready for what the new year will bring! I know I am ready for what the new year will bring. As you know my biggest desire is to get back to my beloved Czech Republic. I am ready to start my second 2 year term. There is so much to do... reconnect with Czech friends, continue learning the language, complete an important research project focused on Czech church culture with respects to saturation church planting (that I hope will be helpful to our facilitation church planting team), and to continue to live out my faith in an authentic way as the Lord enables me. When you live among a people group where 6 out of 10 people claim there is no God, being authentic and allowing God to work in and through you is critical.
But before I am able to return... I must be at 100% of my goal and I am totally trusting God will raise up all the necessary funds by the mid-Feb. so that I can fly out by the end of March. If you are reading this blog, I implore you if you haven't already--seek God, pray to see if He would have you join my support team then step out in faith with me. I can't do this alone--I know that the God of the Harvest has called me to work along side Czech believers to challenge & encourage them to work the harvest in their nation. Last May on my birthday God used Czechs to give me a verse that I hold to... Jeremiah 32:41 "Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul." I know that I know God has planted me in the Czech lands and that He has still much work for me to do. Czechs are constantly sending me messages asking when I will return and that they are anxious to see me again. It so encourages me and I know this part of my journey isn't only to teach me about patience & trusting in my great Provider, but I think God is using it to teach them about His character & will.
I have a sense that God has amazing things in store for me in this new year 2010. I love the lyrics... "For greater things are yet to come--- greater things are still to be done." May those words ring true for you on the journey God has you on. Take care until next time and I am also carrying this thought every day--My God is greater than my circumstances, my confusion & my character. I continue to hold tight to the God I serve no matter what!!
Many Blessings,
Colleen
