New friends

Hi Everyone, This past week-end I was able to meet some interesting people and develop new friendships. For several weeks, my friend Patti wanted me to come for dinner and meet her Czech neighbors Marta & Peter. On Saturday night, I was finally able to spend time with them. Marta doesn't speak English only Czech so it was a great way for me to practice my Czech. Her sister also lives close by and was there visiting when I arrived. After a few minutes the sister called her boyfriend, Pavel and said you must come over and hear an American speaking Czech to us. Pavel came and we all had a wonderful time together. There were several times when I turned to translate for Patti so she could understand what was going on. We took turns talking about our lives and sharing pictures. Marta had this beautiful calendar with large pictures of scenic places found in her homeland. I got very excited when I saw it and kept telling them in Czech that I was there as I recognized certain places. I think the Czechs were impressed that I knew so much about their country and that I was so enthusiastic about it. By the end of the evening, Patti was able to invite all four to an upcoming Easter presentation at her church and Marta gave me the calendar as a gift. Patti couldn't believe it--she had been trying to invite them for a presentation at her church for 5 years and she also was amazed that Marta gave me her most prized possession. All I can say is "thank you Lord for giving me such favor with Czechs."
