All Saints Day

Hi Everyone, An interesting custom in the Czech Republic is All Saints Day. That's right one of the most atheistic countries in Europe has an All Saints Day. What do people actually do... Families go to their relatives graves and pay their respects. They light candles and bring flowers and have a time of remembrance. All Saints Day is on the 2nd of November. When that day falls during the work week, people tend to go pay their respects at the grave sites during the week-end before or the week-end immediately after the 2nd of November. I noticed on Sunday, October 30th when the bus I was traveling in passed by one of the cemeteries here in Brno. There was families of people carrying flowers, wreathes and candles to take to their loved ones grave sites. The families included the grand-parents all the way down to the small children and babies. During my childhood I never remember going to one of my relatives graves sites. It is indeed an interesting custom that they have. So many believe that a person only has this life and once they die that is it. Maybe that is why they want to visit their relatives graves and keep it tidy and orderly looking. God's Word tells us different though--John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Would you pray with me that God would raise up godly men and women here who would boldly share the good news so that people would know the truth and experience the fullness of Jesus Christ. Thanks so much! Until next time take care.
Many Blessings,
Colleen
